I was wondering @threemaapp you are legally obligated to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. But in that case you still are not able to decrypt my message traffic on your end right? The private encryption keys are stored on my local device. Or is there a mechanism for you to retrieve those in case of a legitimate legal investigation? And as soon as PFS in picture it should be inherently impossible to read my packages anyways...

@threemaapp and this only worked with a full data backup including big media as a base. Probably because of encrypted database files or smth. which won't be exported when creating a non-big-media-included backup.
@threemaapp I encountered a problem which is a no-go for a serious messanging App, which needs to be fixed!!
My dad got a new phone and needed to transfer a 17GB Backup which failed over and over on Threemas end.
We worked around by doing a full data backup, deleting all big files in the encrypted zip, restoring the backup on the new phone and before restarting Threema after recovery, we transfered the "sdcard/Pictures|Movies|Music|Documents/Threema" via adb.

I also finished cleaning another circuit board in addition to the button board I fixed.
I cleaned all the potentiometers thoroughly because they were dusty and sticky as hell. And then I used contact spray again, to improve the function and accuracy of them. I reinstalled the board, and one can see the clear difference between the restored and the still dirty board 😂
More progress on my JD-800:
I had to replace some of the control buttons because the didn't work properly anymore.
I ordered similar looking switches on AliExpress, but turns out that the pinout is different.
So I had to hack around that and solder small copper legs to the contacts and reroute them to fit accordingly.

Can someone explain to me why the #iwata kind of people dies out? Why are all the #CEO s #idiots? Is it really that one can only be successful when beeing an asshole?
Another problem was the rotary encoder for the waveform select. It just jumped randomly when turning. So I took out the encoder and literally flooded it with contact spray. I turned it a bit, and boom: Works like new!

Then I started disassembling the control panels because some of the buttons don't work, or don't work all the time. I wasn't able to fix them by applying contact spray, because they are soft press rubberdome/membrane keys...
So I ordered some on AliExpress which look similar. Now i have to wait...
