@siracusa I used to think I just wasn't good looking enough to be an Apple executive, but now I know I'm not cool enough or talented enough either. Sweet.

@siracusa That’s terrific, but where’s the three-necked guitar?

(I’m really curious if they made it just for that gag, or at least purchased one and had it custom-painted.)

@siracusa yep. I was one of those who voted for "can play guitar". Felt very vindicated when he played at the show!
@siracusa I knew it! Talk Show Live posts Friday

the Metal t-shirt, the W-W-D-C rings, every time I re-watch this there’s a new gem. as a (much worse) guitar player, I can tell you he’s really actually playing that. Craig shreds! 🤘🏽

@siracusa knew it! So nice to have confirmation though. Also, dig his PRS.
@siracusa This is absolutely incredible. Craig is my favorite Apple person of all time!
@siracusa yes, but can he play that three-arm beast?
@siracusa I betcha he’s playing a Private Stock PRS.
@dkm he is playing a Whale Blue CE here. Quite the opposite.
Clearly a humble guy!
A PRS isn’t unexpected though, eh? 😅

@siracusa anyone who has seen this photo knew he could play! 😂

In this video he tells when he bought his first electric guitar (and other cool stories)! https://youtu.be/43sjym5ZS68?t=565

@siracusa he's such a cool guy ❤️
@siracusa HairForceOne doing all he can to ensure no one comes near his Worlds Coolest Nerd title.
@siracusa and that 3 necked guitar was real?

@dxzdb @siracusa Nah, it’s all kinds of weird and nonsensical. On closer inspection, it looks AI generated.

@siracusa I have enjoyed his ironic comment about multiple timers being available in iOS 17 (something like “we truly live in the world of advancements”).

I remember he said something similar when presenting expanding cursor (when you move it rapidly from side to side) in El Capitan ages ago.

@siracusa In his Berkeley talk a few years back, he discussed his guitar/ski years in some detail.
@siracusa highlight of the ducking keynote
@siracusa I don’t know how to select all 4 options.
@siracusa The guitar required all of the M2 Ultra cores to render
@siracusa As someone who plays a dulcimer and hurdy gurdy fairly poorly: I don't think you have to be "good" to be considered an <instrument> player XD
@siracusa He could at least play the riff to paranoid decently well.
@siracusa what can’t Craig do?
@darkejon @siracusa One possibility: fit a Vision Pro over his head without messing his hair! I think there's a reason why we didn't see him demo one 🤣
@siracusa I believe it’s a bit of 1 and 3. The hands matched the sound, but not *quiet* perfectly.
@siracusa
I don't think it was a live performance per se, but it looked like he was playing the right notes??
(I barely play guitar)
@siracusa What? No option for "Maybe, but that wasn't him."?
@siracusa epic reference 😘
@siracusa His hand motions and guitar technique was solid… But I’m still in disbelief that he was actually playing… I was confused why the wireless receiver was on top of the amps. He didn’t need to be really playing guitar… unless… he WAS?!?!
@siracusa seeing everything else he has done, he would also have to be able to play a three neck electric guitar
@siracusa I’m going to have review the video a hundred times like the Zapruder film to give a final answer
@siracusa he knows his way around the axe, but that sure wasn’t live.
@siracusa the riff they played , that’s a guitar 101
@siracusa it was definitely close enough to be plausible, but I don’t think the audio was actually live.
@siracusa probably not, but he was well coached to make it look like it.

@siracusa It looked like he was playing some of it - the tapping he did at the start looked spot on. More difficult to tell when they did the close up on “his” hands, though.

But I also have a hard time walking past a Radiohead reference, so I voted ACPG.

@siracusa the audio was definitely fake but the tapping and whammy bar dive techniques were spot on. He either shreds in real life or had a great coach for the video.
@siracusa He probably can, but that doesn't mean he actually did it here
@siracusa Fingers looked right, definitely not live but the “gimme a sec to find my place on the fingerboard" face also looked legit 😀. Can't be sure but the upper and lower guitars might have been added digitally later - the necks look to be a slightly different angle to the neck he actually played. Also two control knobs (even if they are push-pull) seems low for that many neck and pickup choices 🤷
@siracusa
Looked real to this guitarist. Incidentalally, Nick Mohammed looked like a real violinist in a recent Ted lasso episode, to this violinist.
@siracusa he might be able to play that riff but this specific “performance” was clearly not his.
