I'm currently reading Frank Herbert's "Dune" for the first time.

I was struck by this passage. It comes right after the Reverend Mother has tested Paul Atreides. She is talking with him.

I’m irrationally upset that the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR are dead. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I wanted them for so long, but they were never priced for me, and my career is finally going well enough that *maybe* I could justify products in their range, but NOPE, just gone.

What a bummer. Some dumb people at Apple killing the halo cars. I don’t get it.
