hey @gruber I love your podcast. My little shitty podcast where I do interview and am not afraid to do longer form - is mainly due to people like yourself.
However, this invites the need to be buddy buddy with your guests and sometimes echoing their statements instead of contesting them. Rogan does it, which is why people seem to think that he's good. It's not. At 1h:39m you're talking about atmosphere and straws. It's mainly about microplastics and ocean pollution, not climate change. rahrah!

Congratulations on getting your HomePod fixed @siracusa ,
I had to fix mine myself 2-3 years ago. At that point videos on YouTube were only showing butchers who were cutting them open.
So imagine my surprise when I found out that it can be opened with some patience and good old polish training .
Replacing a schottky diode worth about 20 pence , all it took.
Unfortunately I didn’t carefully peel away the woven fabric layer - so that bit doesn’t look as good now . Still works. It’s slow tho.

@chris_gammell jlcpcb are good. I have friends who run businesses just using it to make their boards . Bit silly but works for now.
The reason your BT chip is so cheap , is because a lot of OEMs (ST, Ti, etc) have china market specific chips which are way cheaper than things you buy in the west .
Now that you discovered LCSC, you might be able to find them. Data sheets will be only in Chinese . Price and that , it’s a dead giveaway . They are usually the same or similar part to western eq
