@louie OMG so excited for you! 😍Congratulations!
@louie Cool! Really happy for you!
@louie Congrats on the big move! Japan is high on my list of places I need to make it to…
@louie 🎉 Wow what a fabulous adventure, congratulations!
@louie Whoa! Big move but how exciting! I hope you have the time of your life! 👍🏼
@louie Congrats on making it happen! Hope you love it
@louie big move! Looks like you’re going to be very happy there.
@louie I loved visiting Japan and can see the appeal of living there. I hope it turns out to be exactly the place and challenge you hope it will be.

@louie Moving abroad (Italy/Australia) was one of the best things in my life. You learn a lot about yourself and other people.

The first few months of adjustment are hard, but once you’re past that, it’s a wonderful experience. Congrats!

@chockenberry @louie absolutely. Moved to London in 2011, then Singapore in 2014, then back home to NZ. Now back in London - so worth it for all the moves

@staticnz @chockenberry @louie I moved to Stockholm for two years and it was a fairly essential life experience.

I tell anyone who asks if they should move abroad: grab it with both hands.

@chockenberry @louie my 2 years in Berlin we’re amazing. It’s so good to look at things from a new perspective
@louie awesome move! Best of luck there!
@louie this is so exciting!!!!! So happy for you! We’ve talked about moving to Japan for years but you did it!
@louie What the heck! Congrats!!
@louie Cool! Hope you’re having a great time over there. Thank you for the extensive write up! 😊
@louie This is amazing. Wishing you the best!

If you haven't already heard of WaniKani for learning Kanji, it's definitely worth the subscription. Around Christmas time they always offer a big discount on the lifetime subscription.

@louie always wanted to move to Japan but I don’t think my work ethic lives up to the Japanese expectations so I’d have to find a very specific agency or something to work for that was a little afield of the norms.
@louie congratulations! How cool is that!
@louie I love this so much. Congrats and have fun!
@louie Congratulations! It’s a long term plan for my partner and I to do the same thing. Would be curious to hear about your visa and finding accommodation stories if you’re willing to share.

@louie I loved my time living in Japan. Don’t worry, the language will come quick as you start to immerse yourself and learn to lean on what you know!

(So will seafood - so much good seafood there that isn’t sushi, and so, soo much better than catfish, but take it at your own pace and find the exceptions you can fall in love with!)

@louie wow, that’s huge! Enjoy it there!
@louie Very happy for you. Japan is such an unbelievably unique country. Are you planning to be conversational?
@serko I have no plans, just gonna see how it goes naturally.
@louie Congratulations! I have a dream of sometime living a year+ in Japan. I've never been, and feel like when I go I don't really want to feel limited by time. I'm both jealous and excited for you! :)
@louie had a very interesting year there at some point, enjoy!
@louie you and summer wars convinced me to finally make the jump and learn how to play koi koi. Great game to play while out and the kiddo is napping.
@livekeen hell yes hell yes!! What decks do you have so far!! (You don’t have to see this as an invitation to start collecting as wildly as I do but I’m curious what you got!)
@louie we've been using Nintendo's Tengu deck and really noting the advantages and disadvantages of a deck smaller than the Portuguese standard.
