A little concerned, and a lot of curious.

Software engineer (web / game / mobile), moonlighting indie game dev, resistance scum. Discussing Nintendo, Star Wars, Marvel. Seattle, WA.

I get it wrong sometimes, but mistakes that lead to change are successes.

If you thought you were, or would have been, on the right side of the Civil Rights Movement, if you have quoted MLK Jr., if you find yourself having to clarify “I’m not racist,” and you are out here twiddling your thumbs right now...

Silence still isn’t neutral. The right side isn’t the side you choose when you do nothing.

A new UCLA study shows that films with 41-50% BIPOC casts perform best at the U.S. box office. "The diversity range closely mirrors the 45.2% BIPOC share of the U.S. population, suggesting that films reflecting demographic reality resonate with audiences," writes @Variety's Arushi Jacob. The study also highlighted the need for more women-centered stories, as the number of films with female leads dropped sharply after a historic high in 2024.

We’ve made it extra easy to get in touch with your Members of Congress. Urge Democrats to keep up the fight to get ICE Out For Good and tell Republicans to agree to a DHS funding bill that protects our communities and civil rights: https://act.indivisible.org/sign/ice-out-for-good/?source=mastodon
Tell Your Members of Congress: Halt the ICE Terror Machine

On January 24, federal forces with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. This was just over two weeks after the killing of Renee Good. These killings are a direct result of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities. Congress is currently negotiating funding for DHS, which includes ICE and Border Patrol. We are demanding our Members of Congress draft a new bill that, at minimum: Ensures there is not one penny more for ICE or CBP Pulls ICE and Border Patrol out of Minneapolis and the rest of our communities Prevents ICE or Border Patrol enforcement at designated ‘sensitive locations’ such as houses of worship, day cares, and hospitals Restricts ICE and Border Patrol’s ability to target people based on their race, language or accent, place of employment, or location at the time of the apprehension Ends the administration’s unlawful practice of warrantless home entry and arrests Use this tool to instantly contact your Members of Congress with a clear message: Protect our communities by reining in ICE NOW.
