I did feature film visual effects on this G3 tower in my LA apartment back in 1999. My first real work-from-home experience (it only lasted a few months).

Beautiful. Probably the most elegant Mac I ever owned.

My Power Mac G3 (B&W) from 1999.

@czeins — look, round handles!

Many people are spreading misinformation about how certain shots were achieved in “Project Hail Mary” — director Christopher Miller and ILM are out there clarifying. Note to film fans on social media: if you don’t know how something was done, don’t just guess and claim the guess as fact.

maybe we should stop talking about how movies are made because I don’t think some people can handle the complexity of the process

Elon Musk once threatened to drive to Zuckerberg’s house to fight him, but they patched things up and now Mark volunteers to censor users from posting the names of government employees and also maybe help Elon mug OpenAI

Visual effects - made by artists.

Chris Miller (and Greig Fraser) giving props to ILM on Instagram:

"Shout out to the amazing work on PROJECT HAIL MARY by the folks at ILM - All of these shots (& many hundreds more) were made completely digitally by the talented artists there."
