Only when they are made to pay more than they get from the NRA.
The Sociopathic Continuum Of The United States (SCOTUS) stretches down from the highest court of the land to the schoolyard, shopping mall, and street. It will not be cured by any amount of salving the symptoms, however much we try. The massacres will continue until we root out the cause at the top.
It's a waste of breath talking about anything else.
It's a waste of time pointing in any other direction.
@georgetakei The world is starting to warn their citizens about visiting the US.
@georgetakei In Texas? I donโt think the action weโd both agree would be the correct course will be taken. We have people and politicians that believe thereโs not enough guns and thatโs why we keep having these tragedies. Their response will be we need more guns.
This one was close to home to me. I keep trying to vote these assholes out. It feels futile. But Iโll keep voting for change. We desperately need it.
@georgetakei I worry it isn't about logic, it's more like a religious question. Ban guns, allow abortions, hate god. Or something like that.
For many, US politics isn't really politics; there's no argument that makes people change sides. It seems closer to fanaticism on both sides.
I fully support anti-gun policy but worry it's about the people too. Norway and Canada have hunting + competition guns, yet not as much violence.
@georgetakei In Norway, obtaining a gun requires a process. Either a hunting license or proof that you are part of a shooting club that competes using the gun you buy is needed, along with passing a test. Additionally, any gun must be safely locked away in a cabinet so that only the owner can access it at home.
This doesn't prevent well-planned attacks by individuals like Anders Behring Breivik, but it does help reduce the risk of accidental access.
Would you be able to give three examples of fanaticism from each of the two sides?
@Kazinator @georgetakei I have been trying, but they all just inversed points. And it is like 3 people on the left vs millions on the right.
* Abortion
* Left: no limits
* Right: Ban it and put offenders in jail
* Climate change
* Left: Everyone should drink green algee slurps and live in caves
* Right: It is not real
* Gun control
* Left: All guns should be vaporized this second
* Right: All white men should have a BFG
But what you have on the Right is more or less what some republican politicians actually think, whereas on the left you have only comical strawman caricatures.
#Democrats wiLL LOSE in 2024. This is under a Dem prez n Senate, n narrow House - there is No #Bipartisanship ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Guns dont kill people elected Republicans owned by Russia kill people.
Outside agitators!? Republicans dont even speak the languge of their owners.

@georgetakei
If they don't understand that guns kill far too many people, maybe they'd take it seriously if We the People aimed the guns at them and fired.
That's one way to quickly eliminate the clear and present danger of gun-worshipping MAGAts.
@georgetakei Republicans hate America, and are happy to endanger Americans. The nightmare of our gun problem is the clearest example, but this applies to limiting medical care, reducing national security, and spreading misinformation during times of crisis.
@georgetakei What I find really crazy about some GOP is the really religious ones blame a lack of prayer in schools for why bad things happen. Well, I'm sure during an active shooting that's totally wrong, and you've got prayers flying from minds and lips as quickly as the bullets in the hallways. But it doesn't stop the shooting. Getting the weapon away from the perp is the only thing that stops it. You can't pray a gun out of a hand.
And considering Texas is a state that has as many churches as gas stations in every small and medium-sized town, if prayer worked, we wouldn't have so many bloody shootings.
@georgetakei Remember the Vietnam War protests George? It's time for a repeat. People are dying, the politicians don't care or are actively promoting guns that are the root cause of the problem.
Remember Woodstock? This?
