@AmishSuperModel @georgetakei At least in Canada, there have been travel advisories for going to the US at least since the early 2000s. I remember as a teenager being told it wasn’t a good idea to go to the US unless it was necessary. (It might have been because I’m brown, and there was a lot of hate directed at “Muslims” at the time, which included anyone who might have looked vaguely middle-Eastern.)
