Just caught myself searching how long the North Coast 500 is *facepalm*
I knew this looked familiar…

UPDATE: The leading theory is meteorite just off the coast.

There’s a lot I don’t miss about Twitter, but I do miss the feeling that if a giant boom shook Eastern Massachusetts I’d be able to find out pretty quickly what it was.

Office Productivity Hack

Holy shit, i did it, lol. It looks terrible, but it works.

For people who haven't been keeping up with this project, I've been doing ceramics for a couple years now, and recently people kept tagging me in posts about a European feminist hacker collective that was making circuit boards out of court they dug out of the ground and fired in a campfire.

After having an epiphany about some experimental copper ceramics glazes i made last year, i thought i would see if i could solder to them, and i found that i could.

Sooo ... I made a stamp and stamped out some really basic boards for an astable multivibrator (two blinky lights) circuit. I filled the recessed traces with copper powder and had them fired in our pottery kiln.

Now i have ceramic circuit boards.

I'm going to design a photosynthesis experiment for school using iceberg lettuce, watercress and baby spinach. But nothing that tastes a bit peppery.
The difference between science fiction and reality is that science fiction has to make sense.

So many reasons to love #AngineDePoitrine

In case you haven't seen it, this video is fascinating. It helped me understand the precision, complexity and mathematics behind their music.

Comprendre ANGINE DE POITRINE

Fare thee well Dr Tom, our recent student teacher (surprising number of PhD types go in to high school teaching, without referring to anyone in particular it's maybe international employability?)
But anyway, Dr Tom was brilliant, and listened to my risk assess stuff, and risk asesssed stuff himself. And we made a really nice spectrum, which took some prism effort.
Yes, it should be "perfect". But it's new. And "safe enough" for now. This will be improved over the summer.
