8 years of missing you, Dad. This photo makes me laugh because it’s so decidedly un-Pratchetty. We’re looking in the same direction & there’s hugging (ish.) It’s the kind of pic that, in a movie, one or other of us would look at wistfully before tooling up to go rescue the other one #GNUTerryPratchett #speakhisname
@rhipratchett “FOR I CAN SEE THE BALANCE AND YOU HAVE LEFT THE WORLD MUCH BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT, AND IF YOU ASK ME, said Death, NOBODY COULD DO ANY BETTER THAN THAT. . . .”
@rhipratchett your father gave me the gift of the English language, and I am now sharing this with my own daughter by ways of Tiffany Aching, and soon there will be wizards, witches, guards, and more. I am forever grateful. Thank you.
@rhipratchett It's been eight days and 34 years of missing my own. It never got easier, but cherishing the memories helps. Good to read you have so many to remember him by! #speakhisname #gnuterrypratchett
@rhipratchett all the love, was just thinking about him when I saw your post. X
@rhipratchett Your father's writing meant a lot to me growing up, and still means a lot to me now. #GNUTerryPratchett
@rhipratchett You do both look very Action Hero. "I have a very particular set of skills..."

@rhipratchett Lovely picture of you both.

Can honestly say, I never read the books but my mum did.

@rhipratchett That's so lovely. Have been listening to new audibles for last few months, two more to go before next batch released, hadn't realised how much I missed all those tales and all those characters, listening gives me a new take, what a legacy, what a beautiful man, and ehat a beautiful pic.

@rhipratchett
It's a beautiful photo, though I did do a double-take seeing him without his hat!

You never quite get over losing your parents; I hope you get some comfort knowing that your father will never be forgotten and that so many people around the world miss him too: one of the wisest, funniest, most compassionate writers ever x

ps: I hope you don't mind if I repost the photo with #AltText for people who use screenreaders?
#Alt4You:

@ClaireCopperman @rhipratchett that's some lovely alt text.
@DToher @rhipratchett
Thank you. It's such a beautiful photo that I wanted to share it with everyone ❤️
@rhipratchett I just started re-reading Mort 2 days ago. The name Pratchett will be spoken at least as long as my children talk about books!
@rhipratchett His work lives on. I have several of his books lined up to read. I have only read a few so far but they are pure brilliance.
@rhipratchett thanks for sharing this moment with us. There are thousands of us who never met your dad but in a small way knew him anyway, and miss him dearly every day.
@rhipratchett
Just gonna chime in, we need that movie. Potentially also acting as a cross-over of Pratchett-verses. Just saying.
@Gargron
@Rhianna Pratchett we miss him, too. his books have been an important part of my youth.

@rhipratchett I was just browsing the Terry Pratchett shelf of my local bookstore before reading this... It never stops hurting, but hopefully the fact he touched so many lives with such an incredible positive impact helps a little.

#GNUTerryPratchett

@rhipratchett Your dad is still an inspiration to millions, his name will live on forever! #GNUSirTerryPratchett

@rhipratchett Your father made me a better human through teaching me that all people are just people no matter what they look like or where they come from. And he taught me this not with a wagging finger but by making me giggle and have so much fun over and over again. I am very grateful.

He is and he will be remembered.

@rhipratchett
What a beautiful photo — wish were had the film to go with it ;).

@rhipratchett

Such a touching picture and memory fellow citizen Rhianna Pratchett.

Thank you for sharing it.

I hope he received the best medical care possible, and passed peacefully.

Because he had insurance my father died the death of purposeful negligence.

Every call I join from home there are comments about this shelf in particular. I have yet to steel myself to read Rob's biog but it will happen

@rhipratchett

I speak his wit and wisdom almost every day.

We live near a primary school, and my favourite is (paraphrase, so sorry if not an exact quote)
"It's good to hear children playing, so long as you don't listen to what they're actually saying"

@rhipratchett My 10yo daughter is enjoying Hat Full of Sky for the nth time as her bedtime reading. Such a wonderful voice for the imagination. Your father's writing on life and death was a life preserver while I took care of my mom living with #dementia. Thank you so much, Sir Terry.
@rhipratchett Thank you for sharing this and him with us. He's very much missed.
@rhipratchett 念念不忘、必有回想❗️
@rhipratchett
He was a magical writer...what a incredible wit and imagination!
@rhipratchett I admire the smile, so gorgeous
@rhipratchett Choosing to Die: One of the best documentaries I have ever seen, Thank you!
