Basically the first refers to the government can’t censor me (well they do via the FCC and other BS anyways) but private companies can.

So the government can’t ban mastodon (though SCOTUS don’t give a shit about the constitution anymore:() but the dipshit can.

Other various laws might happen to him too. The EU just have better laws.

@szbalint but also so not the "free speech platform" Elon pretended he was going to create. Why was he not happy with limiting freedom of reach on the most objectionable but still legal content which was what he claimed the perfect solution was?

It is clear if it weren't for ElonJet he would not have added this rule. It is his own little kingdom and he'll answer to noone when making up his own rules.

here's hoping he pulls out of the EU. it is a private company and he can do whatever he likes, he will just have deal with the consequences, just like in the US.

(GDPR is basically not enforced at the moment, the Irish Data Protection Commission is a joke that has to be sued into doing its job by @noybeu, and when/if fines are actually doled out, they can easily be written off as a standard cost of doing business. Meanwhile, the policymakers, etc., who should be protecting our rights are eye their lucrative positions at these firms in the coming years.)
