❤️GARTH BROOKS: “Diversity. Inclusiveness. That’s me. That’s always been me… diversity is the answer to our problems. If you come to our bar, come in with love.” @garthbrooks addresses the unhinged backlash to his NASHVILLE bar carrying Bud Light. This is leadership.

After seeing Trump's document bathroom, I'm almost sure he's money laundering with a washer and drier.

Oh wow! I didn’t know that the World Book encyclopedia was still in print! This is the exact brand of encyclopedia that I grew up with and exactly why I started contributing to @wikipedia in 2002.

(The World Book was such an influence on me that I emulated their infobox style in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Makati&oldid=1704277)

(I also adored their companion Childcraft set; the Mathemagic volume was the very reason I grew up to love #math

I just bought the only physical encyclopedia still in print, and I regret nothing

The still-updated World Book Encyclopedia is my antidote to the information apocalypse.

How Trumpy. Via Zoe Schiffer:

#Twitter hasn’t paid 1000s of $ in charitable donations that employees made in 2022, around time of acquisition. $ was taken out of employee paychecks but never reached orgs. Benevity, 3rd-party platform used to facilitate payments, told employees Twitter hasn’t yet approved the payments. After I started asking around about this Twitter said it’s “actively working” to get the $ to the NGOs.

Twitter was supposed to match donations but that also has not yet happened

This is big: Trump supporter and right-wing activist Douglass Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn, has been found GUILTY for attempting to suppress Democratic voters in 2016 through a disinformation campaign involving deceptive social media images instructing Hillary Clinton supporters to vote by text. #disinformation #socialmedia

Social Media Influencer Douglass Mackey Convicted of Election Interference in 2016 Presidential Race

“Mackey has been found guilty by a jury of his peers of attempting to deprive individuals from exercising their sacred right to vote for the candidate of their choice in the 2016 Presidential Election,” stated United States Attorney Peace.  “Today’s verdict proves that the defendant’s fraudulent actions crossed a line into criminality and flatly rejects his cynical attempt to use the constitutional right of free speech as a shield for his scheme to subvert the ballot box and suppress the vote.”

Good morning. Our doors would be shutting today and all of us would be out of work, if 1000s of people hadn't come together to say that #TexasNeedsAnObserver.

We are so grateful to all of you on this #Newstodon Friday!

This is not getting covered. It is critical, frightening news that affects peoples' lives and deaths. You've said everything you have to say about Trump's indictment until it's unsealed, news folk.
