The Antilibrary: The Hidden Value of Unread Books
The legendary Italian writer Umberto Eco had over 50,000 books in his private library.

When asked why so many, he said:

It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.

The antidote to overconfidence is our relationship with knowledge. The antilibrary is the solution according to Nassim Taleb.

I can’t emphasize this enough: Donald Trump handed over all government records to Elon Musk because they both wanted to sell off the government and the people it protects out of a dedication to their parallel systems of fraud.

Along the way, they leaned particularly hard on white supremacist objectives.

That is literally all DOGE was. A meme turned into white supremacist fraud.

They fell out for the same reason crime bosses usually fall out.

"Getting COVID Again Is More Dangerous Than Most People Realizeβ€”Here’s What To Know"

"Each COVID-19 infection is a new stress on the body. Repeated infections may increase the risk of long COVID by cumulatively affecting the immune system, inflammation and organ systems."

"What makes getting long COVID especially dangerous is that there is currently no cure for it."

[Ontario artist Dara] Vandor created 20 plaques now installed throughout Western University's Weldon library as part of the speculative art series. She launched it in 2025 after President Donald Trump repeatedly suggested annexing Canada.

What if Canada became the 51st state? This artist imagines what that future looks like | CBC News

Inside a London, Ont. library, official-looking plaques describe a fictional future where Canada has already been absorbed by the United States. The installation asks what happens when sovereignty can no longer be taken for granted.
