Bert Latamore@TimH @joshuatopolsky Yes, they found an ient Mastodon DNA in Greenland of all places. Mastodons we're North American. No one expected them in Greenland or has any idea of how they got there. And the DNA in question was 200,000 yrs old. That is twice as far back as any DNA found previously. It was found by a new process that looks at all the DNA fragments in a sample without attempting to construct full strands for a single animal. Very exciting.
