Apple announced the AirPods Max 2 this morning — seemingly out of nowhere! It’s great to see long-overdue features from the AirPods Pro finally make their way to these $549 headphones.

The timing is odd to me. Announcement comes over a week before customers can even preorder them? I’d guess Apple wanted to avoid any possibility of retailer leaks.
