This is why I always *loathed* "first world problems!" rhetoric. Not only is there is more than one problem, you're also allowed to care about more than one scale of problem.
I'm allowed to take care of the splinter in my foot before I cure cancer. I'm allowed to complain about a sale price not being honored at the grocery store without solving world hunger. And to Amy's point, the existence of a data-center-scale problem doesn't make it ok for someone to be rude in my immediate vicinity.

Beloved and I went out to dinner in Denver, a special occasion, fancy restaurant…girl, I put on heels. And makeup. We get to this place, with the ambience and the candles and the waiter handed me a leather portfolio with a QR code.
I looked at it, I looked at him, I looked back at it, and said “No, I will not be starting this evening with a security breach, thanks. May we please have menus.” And I was fully prepared to walk out if they didn’t have them.
