Ask your Librarian or Archivist if you are breathing too loudly. Known side effects of using Libraries are increased vocabulary, knowledge, and paper-dust mites. Some Library users report tinnitus due to auditory deprivation. (Nonsense.)
@philshapiro What about people who just love books and libraries?
When I was between jobs, my local public library was my "office." It was a place for me to go in the morning when everyone else was going to work. It helped me set a much needed routine. I would work on my job search or read a book or chat online or surf the bird site (back when it was far less toxic). The VAPL was my happy place at a time when I didn't have much to be happy about. #bookstodon #libraries @VernonLibrary
@philshapiro Thanks Phil for sharing the Mastodon tips. Very helpful!
@fedi.tips (??)
Thank you. Not a library worker myself, but my daughter is working on her MLS (MLIS?) and should be heading for your ranks some day.
I will pass this on.
i am not a librarian, but i love libraries and librarians above almost anything else i can think of besides my family and my dog....
Shhhh!
This server is for for #librarians #libraries
Hey @internetarchive have you seen #LibraryLand?
@philshapiro While we’re on the subject - @LibbyApp is a goddamned miracle and it would be awesome if more people knew a library card is all they needed to have endless stories wherever they are.
Imagine collecting up old iPhones, preloading them and making it absolutely rain in the senior facilities in your town.
Endlessly grateful for your work. ❤️
just read your open source article - thank you for sharing and i love this ending. 🖖🏽
contemplating about if 'everything' can be improved...perhaps everything can be altered so it's an improvement for at least one other person.
"Open source is a software movement, but it's also much more than that. It's an optimistic way of looking at every human-made object and idea. Everything can be improved. It can all be improved."
@fowllanguage maybe a note to add to Franky’s recent visit to the library? See the post above this one.
