Made yummy homemade pizzas for dinner with my kids last night. Used garlic naan bread as a shortcut for the crust, and we each customized our own toppings. πŸ•

Cleaned up the dining room a bit. Getting the house back into a condition where we can have company is going to be an extended project. The clutter is real.

Finalized OOO schedule for the holidays. Looking forward to some rest and relaxation. 😎

My first post on Mastadon. I hope I am able to establish a sense of community of educators and academics so I can bring these ideas and resources to my students.

Is there a beverage community on Mastodon? Every now and then I like to share the libation I happen to be enjoying. Last night at a friend's holiday party it was It's A Beaut Pecan & Toffee Stout from Brewdog Brewery. #beer #BeersOfMastodon #Brew #Stout #Beerstodon

Here's the Official Beer to Pair With Your Annual Viewing of 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'

The 7.5% ABV porter has notes of pecan, toffee, fudge, and vanilla.

Is the whole "cats attacking Christmas trees" thing new this year? Or have I just not noticed in until recently? I feel like I've seen more references to that phenomenon in the past two weeks than I have in the past 20 years.

To be clear, I'm #Jewish and have never owned a #cat, so I have zero experience with this.

Don't be that guy.

We're getting ready to go to a holiday party at a friend's house. It starts in about 90 minutes. One of the guests texts the group letting us know that his daughter just tested positive for #COVID, and if we don't want him to come to the party, he would understand.

Here's the thing: he is very aware nobody is going to be the one to tell him, "Nah, I'm not comfortable with you showing up when you have #coronavirus wandering through your house."

Don't be that guy.

Finishing a book is like leaving a world behind.
Starting a new book...is like opening a door to a completely different world.

I keep trying to compartmentalize, but then I remember that's how they built the titanic.

You’ve probably heard of β€œThe Unsinkable Molly Brown” bc of her heroism on the Titanic, but there’s so much more to her story.

Margaret Brown (her real name) fought for workers’ rights, women’s rights, education & even ran for the Senate - before women could vote.

She established Titanic’s Survivor's Committee & helped erect the DC memorial.

And yet, Brown wasn't allowed to participate in the congressional Titanic hearings simply bc she was a woman. #history #women #HistoryRemix
