FRIEND: It's called cauliflower. It's not ghost broccoli.

ME: [taking a long drag on my cigarette] Listen kid, I know what I saw.

@roxiqt roxi on mastodon!! 🥰☺️🥹
@Jslez I figured it was time to do the thing 😂
@roxiqt @Jslez
Welcome to the somewhat sane asylum!
@roxiqt I’m so glad ur here!! I hope you do all the toot-tweet-posts
@roxiqt Did you salt and burn it? 🤔
@GraysonBell you know, that would have been the smart thing to do
@roxiqt @GraysonBell Cardiologists have said I need to avoid sodium (i.e., no salt). So I could maybe pepper and burn it, but that would be a waste of perfectly good pepper. So just burn it as the toxic waste that it is.
@roadskater I take it you're not a fan of "Supernatural." The reference of "salt and burn" was how the Winchester brothers would defeat ghosts.
@roxiqt cauliflower always makes me think of Bunnicula I’m like oh he’s been here every time I pass cauliflower in the store😁
@marigoldmartine @roxiqt I remember that book. Probably read it 50 times as a kid
@yfkysf @roxiqt Same, and the sequel The Celery Stalks at Midnight. I will never come up with a title that good 🙃
@marigoldmartine @roxiqt I came here to say exactly that! The celery stalks at midnight...
@marigoldmartine @roxiqt Apparently there's at least one more book to that series.
@Helbaworshipper @roxiqt omg I forgot the sequel is Howliday Inn, Celery is the third. There’s 7 in the original series. Anyone that hasn’t seen them should check the link below for the titles alone 🤣

@roxiqt oh isn't it Polar Broccoli like the same like with bears
@roxiqt I laughed waaaaay to hard at this 😂

@roxiqt

I cal it "Embarrassed Broccoli," although now that I think of it, it should be "Scared Broccoli."

@roxiqt Ghost broccoli would at least still taste good, once you scraped away the ectoplasm.
@roxiqt @tackerhacker Moment mal: Blumenkohl ist … Geisterbrokkoli?
@roxiqt there's a specter haunting broccoli. the specter of cauliflower.
@roxiqt best thing I’ve seen today!
@roxiqt looks like spooky season isn’t over yet 😬
@roxiqt You're here! My phone has no raccoon emoji, so please accept this squirrel. 🐿
@roxiqt I'm calling it ghost broccoli from now on.
@roxiqt give me the vegetable content and free my soul
There's a Fibonacci Fractal in This Remarkable Romanesco Broccoli

Few things in the garden are more mesmerizing than the Italian heirloom plant known as Romanesco broccoli. The chartreuse bud looks like it was sculpted by a fine artist with its distinctive spiraled pinnacles. It's an edible flower (just like heads of broccoli or heads of artichoke) that we eat

Garden Betty
@Badmonotreme @roxiqt ah yes, alien broccoli
@OmegaVoid @roxiqt proof, if such were needed, that Earth in the distant past was visited by nutritionists from another world.
@Badmonotreme @roxiqt 100g meets 68% of your geometry daily recommended dose.
@roxiqt seems like the most appropriate place for this.. which I have been saving for years because every time I look at it, I die of laughter and I don’t even know why because it’s not that funny.
@roxiqt you know they're both big effing flowers, right? You should see them when they bloom
@roxiqt I spent 3yrs in Cornwall, a friend insisted she hated broccoli.
I went shopping with her & she bought some.
Apparently broccoli is called calabrese, and broccoli is what they call cauliflower.
I guess it's the old turnip/swede thing they do that got an EU law made where Cornwall is the only place to be allowed to list the wrong one as an ingredient in food.
@AnneDee wait, isn't calabrese a type of sausage in most places? ^^v
@brocolie Google says it's broccoli, but anything or anyone from Calabria is also referred to as Calabrese, so if they make salami it would be called calabrese salami.
@roxiqt And we haven't even started in on Fractal Broccoli.

And that’s what I put as my high school yearbook quote.

@roxiqt deffo going to start calling it Ghost Broccoli from now on!
