My bet is on major celebrities/content creators starting to post here (simultaneously or even first here) - @taylorswift13 and pop musicians, @markhamill and other actors. The leading fact-based journalists and their networks/sources are already here in good numbers.

@Arco I didn't what to mess up again 😂 . Just kidding: honestly, I think it is a oranges-to-apples comparison. The numbers I was using for Twitter growth are also old (first half of 2022). In any case, 135k per day is faster that what Twitter reports.

Apart from the fact that I am from a third world country and can't afford $8, I personally consider the app very toxic. I have contemplated deleting my account a couple of times. Now is, perhaps, the time.

That was a clear signal that the CEO of Twitter intends to boost conspiracy theories in favor of the Republicans and that caused to my opinion a mass exodus of Twitter.

@mrdrozdov it we use the back-of-the-envelop figure of 115k per day in Twitter, then yes: more people are joining Mastodon than Twitter now.

I joined Twitter during 2009 when it went from 1 million users to 10 million users
It was strange and nobody understood it and it was just geeks and weirdos really. Most people operated it via arcane commands sent via SMS
