Tuesday update on the #mastodon growth. 135k (!!) users join yesterday. Also, I'm zooming out the plot to see the evolution in the number of new users through the last year. I'm going to need a logarithm scale pretty soon 😎

Why do you mark the Twitter layoff as the key event? The "Pelosi tweet" and "vote recommendation" happened at the similar moment, and were much more significant in my opinion.

@scottfennell @estebanmoro @breadandcircuses That was a right wing conspiracy theory where the husband of Nancy Pelosi was not attacked by a politically motivated nuthead, but where the husband of Nancy Pelosi went to a gay bar, took somebody home and got involved into a fight.

That was a clear signal that the CEO of Twitter intends to boost conspiracy theories in favor of the Republicans and that caused to my opinion a mass exodus of Twitter.
