I just love my training so much and I love Kristina too. She makes me feel so safe. We have conversations about overthinking (a thing we both do) and how to manage my perfectionism. I’ve only recently realised I’ve gone from “I don’t think I can do that weight *and* get to 12” to “all I have to do is 6 and then work from there. What’s the worse thing that can happen?”. I feel so empowered and it’s incredible. #gym #yearofstrength
For the 2nd month in a row, I've saved money. I've actually had money left over at the end of the month and I've been able to move it into a savings account. Like a proper adult. This is the financial strength I wanted in this year of strength. It's not a huge thing but for me it's so exciting. #yearofstrength
In fact they only said lovely things. And that made me feel bolder. Because I know I'm a 48 year old woman and I know I'm round but I've been working f*cking hard since February and I'm strong. (Actually Kristina called me a badass bitch). In fact all my weights went up. Plate squats are now 80kg and I've started bench presses. I don't think I'm awesome most of the time (or indeed enough) but today I feel pretty amazing. #gym #yearofstrength
OK. I'm going to be brave because I'm actually really shy. This is me, after a night shift, at PT, pulling 50kg on the lat pull for the first time. I was feeling weirdly "meh" about everything. Kristina suggested we looked at my lay pulls which were 42.5kg. "OK so 50kg is a bit of a jump. We can find little weights to stack?" I sent PT a clip of a child swing around a homemade grip swing/monkey bar/ninja gym thing with the message “We should try this for my next session! 😂”. I then pointed out I have no upper body strength to nip any ideas she might get very much in the bud.

Had PT this morning and she showed me the pull up machine. I could do the very easiest setting. If she was helping to push it up 😂

I did tell her I have no strength. We now have a new goal 😱 #gym #yearofstrength

My brain is so fizzy with inspiration. I don't know if it's #YearofStrength stuff or not but I suddenly have realised how a couple of things I'm doing have joined up to become a new creative idea. It's still really early stages but the I'm desperate to get cracking. I've had to order some materials and there will be pictures. I've very excited. Sorry for the vagueness - it's not deliberate I'm just trying to figure out the right words. The pictures will hopefully help. #textiles #art
This morning at the gym. I did 12 reps and 3 sets on everything except one set of my Romanian deadlifts where I *only* did 10. However, it’s the other goals I’ve achieved that I’m most proud of. I changed the weights on the weight bar for deadlifts by myself, I swapped my 6 min row for a walk/run (alternating 1 mins of each for 6 mins). This *might* be couch to 5k prep AND I walked tall throughout the gym this morning. I felt invincible! #gym #yearofstrength
