OK. I'm going to be brave because I'm actually really shy. This is me, after a night shift, at PT, pulling 50kg on the lat pull for the first time. I was feeling weirdly "meh" about everything. Kristina suggested we looked at my lay pulls which were 42.5kg. "OK so 50kg is a bit of a jump. We can find little weights to stack?" Our minimum is 6 and then work towards 12. I aimed for 6 and got 9. And then found I was being videoed which made me feel odd. I'm not comfortable being photographed and had no intention to share this with anyone but Krisitna was so enthusiastic about how I "looked solid and bossed those pulldowns" I sent it to a couple of sisters & a bro and went to bed. In fact they only said lovely things. And that made me feel bolder. Because I know I'm a 48 year old woman and I know I'm round but I've been working f*cking hard since February and I'm strong. (Actually Kristina called me a badass bitch). In fact all my weights went up. Plate squats are now 80kg and I've started bench presses. I don't think I'm awesome most of the time (or indeed enough) but today I feel pretty amazing. #gym #yearofstrength
