Ich hab öfter das Problem, dass mit AA/AAA NiMH Akkus (zB #Eneloop) die Batteriewarnung von Sensoren/Aktoren nicht funktioniert weil diese eine andere Entladekurve haben als eine Alkaline Batterie.
Hab mir jetzt mal so Li-ion AA Akkus mit eingebauten Spannungswandlern geholt. Die halten die 1.5V und schalten erst am Ende ihrer Kapazität auf 1.2V um. Damit sollte die Batteriewarnung klappen, bin gespannt. #XTAR

That being said this ain't magic: Some fine-tuned LNB that is tuned to the Ka-Band uplink frequency or a harmonic of it, a simple 40cm offset dish and a hackRF is all one needs to do some #ElectronicWarfare and #SIGINT.

  • Even the #US #DoD uses #Iridium & #UHFSATCOM.

  • #SES & #Eutelsat have various commercial #Cband, #KuBand & #KaBand transponders for bidirectional data from their GSOs.

  • #XTAR has a #Xband-Spotbeam.

  • #Ukraine has both #Fiber and #Radio links (civilian and military) to link together units and emplacements. Espechally direct-burial/lie-flat fiber is used because #COTS parts are cheap, commonplace and unlike copper, they can do 160km+ without amplifiers with ample of room for splices.

Pretty shure Starlink was a mere "comfort feature" allowing units to send their drone footage from their FOB to HQ for instant #Meme|fication and "scoreboard updates" but I'm shure worst-case the #NAFO friends will just pack in some 2,5" SSDs and USB cases with the next supply trucks or have some #Skyhook-Style delivery system if that was ever needed.

  • I'm shure the folks in the trenches will miss YouTubing in their toilet break, but I'm shure they still have enough #Memes and #Entertainment in reserve to compensate for it.

Die 1,5V #LiIon-Zellen (Größe AA, integrierter Spannungswandler) haben sich in den in den Heizkörper-Thermostaten (#DANFOSS Eco) richtig bewährt.

Seitdem ich die Temperaturen via #BLE auslese, sind 1,2V #NiMH leider endgültig keine praktikable Option mehr.

Ich habe dann herumgesucht und die relativ neuen 4150 mWh Zellen von #XTAR als mögliche Lösung ausprobiert.

Kupiłem, ale bo ja wiem… OK moje 18650 mają swoje za sobą, ale kurcze idea była taka, że wrzucę do tego właśnie raczej używane aku. Niestety w żaden sposób nie dają rady, mimo, że w latarce spoko.

Czyli trzeba będzie zainwestować w nowe aku z dużą wydajnością (min 2A), czyli tak ciut bez sensu wychodzi. :>

No i na koniec, miało mieć tryb wolnego ładowania 5V… ekran mruga, ale napięcie rośnie i po chwili zabawka zalicza reset. :>

That being said: Read some #SpecSheets on #GlobalSecurityOrg or even #Wikipedia and then realize that #Starlink was neither designed nor approved for that useage and #SpaceX explicitly bans in it their ToS - unlike #XTAR & #Iridium...
