There has been so much noise about #Claude for #Excel recently — many posts on LinkedIn saying that you have to use it or risk becoming inefficient / obsolete. What I do not get at all is — just how would Claude / #Copilot or any other #AI agent help me do financial modelling in Excel better 🤷🏻‍♂️ I do not really need any AI tool to build a quick #SUMIFS / #XLOOKUP / #Table analysis - I can do that myself with a few keyboard shortcuts. Hm, hard one. I don't think I've had that result in more than a decade.

There are two options that work, done correctly without fault.
One is for intermediate users, #HLookup 1), #VLookup, or #XLookup, the other for fairly advanced users, #PowerQuery 2).
(I'm assuming that copy and paste has not been a top choice for you either. 😉)

Vanha Vlookup-hakufunktio on monella tapaa rikkinäinen ja uusi Xlookup on valovuosia parempi. Tällä videolla näytän miten voit käyttää sitä LibreOfficessa, joka sai tämän uuden funktion äskettäin. Excelissähän tämä on toiminut jo pitkän aikaa. Funktio on tosin käytännössä identtinen molemmissa sovelluksissa.

Cheers, yep. I also love the fact that #XLOOKUP actually returns a range rather than purely a scalar value, plus the bottom up search is a nice feature that solves the issue of a tied amount here.

#Lox365 is a new #extension for #LibreOffice #Calc that adds functions like FILTER, SORT, #TEXTSPLIT, #TOCOL and #XLOOKUP. Should make #migration of #spreadsheets to LibreOffice easier, for the time being.
