I saw some advice about using MS Word's Read Aloud function on your manuscript and I didn't realize that it was good for more than just spotting typos.

My book actually sounds good. Like a real book that I would enjoy reading. Low Self-Esteem Brain doesn't know how to process this.

Sometimes writing means multi-tasking with messy hair- sweatpants on, headphones in. For me, it's hard to see people on #bookstagram and #booktok with pristine shelves and glossy desks when a lot of the time, my #authorvibe is... My kitchen. Often the only way I counter it is by being honest with myself. IE, my journey is not their journey, and my art is not their art.
