King of my castle!
In Dutch we call these little wrens winterkoning / king of winter.
Winter may be gone, this little wren is still royalty here!

A Eurasian Wren (Winterkoning) is making a nest in our backyard. Apparently they're not that rare but I had never seen one until we moved here. I read that the male will make several nests and the female will then choose the best one, so it's not certain that they will end up laying eggs in this one but I'm still excited 😄

Ohh, ik bof weer! Net voor het eerst een winterkoninkje kunnen fotograferen in onze tuin 🥰

Ik had hem wel al eerder heel kort gezien, maar nu bleef hij lang genoeg zitten om mijn camera snel te pakken. Hij was ook zo weer weg. Hopelijk komt ie nu wat vaker op bezoek 😊
