Random bird question! This was new to me, but perhaps this behaviour is normal?

We had clothes hanging out on a line in the back garden this morning, and shortly afterwards, a wren was trying to get into my pants:

It landed on my jeans a few times and seemed to be stuffing nesting material up and into the space created by the upside-down waistband area. Is this.. weird bird activity?

Location: Dublin, Ireland. (See also note in post below.)

Um estudo revelou que wrens escoceses, aves de ilhas como Shetland e St Kilda, apresentam gigantismo insular, um fenômeno evolutivo em que espécies isoladas aumentam de tamanho ao longo do tempo.

This little chap has been making a filthy din in my garden for the last hour or more. Watching him, there are in fact two that emerge from and return to the same bush. There is also a constant bird noise which Merlin has been unable to identify, and I'm hoping there's a brood in there somewhere that is in the process of fledging.
