Flamingo's in Zuid-Holland 🇳🇱

Ze komen iedere winter naar de Nederlandse kust, dit omdat het zoute water van het Grevelingen niet bevriest. In het voorjaar trekken ze weer terug naar hun broedhabitat in Duitsland, het Zwillbrocker Ven.
De oudste vogel van de groep komt al 23 jaar overwinteren in Nederland, dit is af te lezen aan de hand van de kleurringen die ze dragen.

They return to the Dutch coast every winter because the saltwater of the Grevelingen doesn't freeze over.
In spring, they return to their breeding habitat in Germany, Zwillbrocker Ven.
The oldest bird in the group has been wintering in the Netherlands for 23 years, as evidenced by the colored rings the Flamingo's wear.
