Going to be doing a shared talk on how to write apps for Linux desktops and phones with a friend (who is not on Fedi) early next year at #vanlug.

I'll be doing it for GNOME apps via GTK, she'll be doing it for KDE apps via Qt, and we'll be talking about how all of that is possible via XDG standards and Flatpaks.

So excited :) And makes me so happy to have both major desktops in a shared talk without any feuds

Back in the 1990s —

There were LINUX USER GROUPS (#LUG ).

I spent a lot of time as part of the Vancouver LUG ( #VanLUG ).

They were community. And they helped promote, and popularize Linux.

Is there anything like this for the #Fediverse and #Mastodon ?

Are the Fediverse User Groups or Mastodon User Groups?
