This motivates me so much to do more. I can't wait for WWDC so I can kickstart my next big open source project around the new APIs!

When Brad and I first got together, we couldn’t have imagined that one day we’d be able to celebrate Pride Month so openly, let alone post about it on the internet. But here we are, joy and all. Happy Pride, everyone! Let’s keep showing up, speaking out, and marching forward (glitter optional, but encouraged). 🌈✨
Redesigning the Bay's old retail spaces will come with challenges and opportunities | CBC News

Ruby Liu brokered a deal to take over up to 28 of the leases held by Hudson's Bay and its sister Saks businesses in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario and transform them into "a new modern department store." But making the jump from vision to reality won't be easy, experts warn.

Wanna try to set your page to preferred dark/light mode explicitly?
Try this in Chrome

Open DevTools → Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) → Emulate CSS prefers-color-scheme: dark

btw Ctrl+Shift+P is a very underrated key combo, have fun playing with it, there is so much good stuff there.

Canada is in the middle of the largest measles outbreak it has seen in generations. Despite the spread, B.C. is not considering making measles immunization mandatory for attending school, as it is in Ontario and New Brunswick, the Health Ministry told The Tyee. Michelle Gamage reports. https://thetyee.ca/News/2025/05/29/BC-Measles-Vaccination-Schools/?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=editorial

True definition of critical infrastructure

A neat project: from Brazil, a tool to print a star map that folds into a dome! Written by a physics professor. Teachers use it to introduce children to the night sky.

It had _never_ occurred to me that, instead of simply reciting to students _yet again_ the old speech about how flat maps and flat star charts distort the sphere, you could just _fix the map_ instead and make it dome-shaped. Brilliant!

They hope to open-source soon. Uses my Skyfield library.
