Not great phone photo of a green woodpecker in my garden. Only the second time I've seen one and not seen in the garden before. #ukwildlife
Deathcap (Amanita phalloides) at the foot of an oak in Engine Wood, Combe Hay on the outskirts of #Bath #Somerset #UK Probably the most poisonous #mushroom in the world - although slugs seem to like eating them!

I also like the sound of the crows in the background - they always have a regional accent...

A very worn Small Tortoiseshell butterfly, seen near Stoney Littleton, near Bath.

This butterfly species has declined by 86% since 1976, and over the past few years has become worryingly scarce. The reasons are uncertain. Its food plant is Common Nettle, which is still extremely common. Possibilities include a parasitoid fly Sturmia bella and climate change.

@BathNature Near constant heavy rain made it impossible for them in my garden last year 2024.

I was glad to see a slight return this year 2025.

This video was 2023 ⬇️ a good year.

@Deixis9 Really good to see. I used to find ST caterpillars frequently, but haven't found any the past few years.
