#Hurricanes #Franklin and #Idalia churn in the Atlantic. Idalia looks potent and ready to rapidly intensify, while Franklin is running its course. While Franklin may affect #Bermuda with tropical storm force winds, Idalia is set to make a dangerous landfall in #Florida.

TROPICAL UPDATE 08/26/23: We now have Tropical Depression 10 as of Saturday evening. It’s forecast to slowly move northerly and then move faster in the eastern Gulf of Mexico early in the week. There is a chance it could become a hurricane according to the National Hurricane Center’s official forecast. We’ll see what happens as the environment remains favorable for intensification in the near term. Those in Florida and the Southeast U.S. should continue to monitor the storm and ensure hurricane kits are on standby.

It's been a hot minute since I've done a update on the tropics, but given the proximity to the Big Bend of Florida, as well as a lot of hype and misleading info, I figured it was time to do a post. Bottom line: It's too early to make definitive calls. The low is weak and broad, but has a good chance of some tropical development. It's worth watching it this weekend into early next week. Also, my youngest son handled the spotlight pretty well.
