Bermuda Welcomes Google Subsea Cable Landing
Bermuda: Former UBP (centre-right) Premier John Swan has died aged 90. He was Bermuda's longest-serving leader (1982-1995). He resigned after a failed 1995 independence referendum and later caused a major row by trying to overturn the fast-food ban to open a McDonald's.
The biggest effort in turning a "nice bougie lawn" into an exuberant food, flowers, and native plants patch of dirt has been the eradication of Bermuda grass.
No herbicides, so cardboard and digging were the mainstays for a few years.
Then we got the chickens, and it became much easier. One round of digging followed by keeping the birds there for a year has worked well.
They are now working on the next section of the yard.
