Digesting Food Studies (the CFS podcast)—Episode 111: Lunch Box Identities

What is “Canadian food” and how does its interpretation affect our identity and sense of belonging—especially in primary and secondary schools?

https://rss.com/podcasts/digesting-food-studies/2350341/

This episode unpacks the packed lunch, in particular those that the kids of first-generation immigrants bring to school. Two articles from Canadian Food Studies are covered, both co-written by Yukari Seko, “Unboxing the bento box” (Vol. 8, No. 3) and “Feeding children while Asian” (Vol. 12, No. 2). And in response, PhD student Shay Quinn offers up several perspectives on meaning-making, involving research participants in research, and arts-informed methodologies.

The Six Million Dollar Man 5x07 "Rollback" review by RikerDonegal

**Robert Loggia, Suzanne Charny, Rick Springfield.** Most episodes begin with Oscar telling Steve his mission. This one starts with Steve already deep undercover and we have to figure it all out as it goes along. Even better, Steve himself doesn’t know exactly what the bad guys are planning. Even better again, the main villain knows from the start that Steve is an agent! Charny is terrific as the woman working with the bad guys who knows she is in over her head and can’t get out. Her scenes with Steve really work, showcasing what a decent guy he is. The audience really comes to like her, and hope that things will work out for her. It’s a really clever script about a heist on Halloween night. All the little talents of the various guys in the group are utilised in ingenious ways. Having been teased for an hour, it’s fun to see everything come together in the final minutes. This the third very good episode in a row. Show appears to be on a roll. _Fall 1977: ABC aired The Six Million Dollar Man in the second hour of Sunday prime time after The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries and before The ABC Sunday Night Movie. Against it, CBS had Rhoda and On Our Own, while NBC aired The Wonderful World of Disney._ 9/10
