Come da pronostico, anche l’ultimo tentativo della Global Sumud Flotilla di forzare il blocco navale israeliano su Gaza è fallito. Questa mattina, come riportato dal Times of Israel, che ha pubblicato anche alcuni video della Marina israeliana, i soldati dell’Israel Defense Forces (Idf) hanno abbordato e preso il controllo di alcune imbarcazioni della Flotilla al largo delle acque di Cipro.
La circostanza è stata confermata anche da altri media israeliani e, in particolare, dal quotidiano Ynet, secondo cui diversi attivisti sarebbero stati arrestati e trasferiti a bordo di una nave della Marina israeliana dotata di una cosiddetta “prigione galleggiante”.
Sempre secondo il giornale israeliano, come già accaduto nei precedenti tentativi, gli attivisti fermati verranno condotti al porto di Ashdod, in Israele, da dove saranno successivamente rimpatriati.

Poco prima dell’abbordaggio, il ministero degli Esteri israeliano aveva lasciato intendere, attraverso un messaggio pubblicato su X, che anche questa missione della Sumud Flotilla, partita dalla Turchia con circa 50 navi, sarebbe stata presto fermata.
“Ancora una volta, una provocazione fine a se stessa: un’altra cosiddetta ‘flottiglia di aiuti umanitari’ senza alcun aiuto umanitario. Questa volta, due gruppi violenti turchi, Mavi Marmara e IHH, quest’ultimo designato come organizzazione terroristica, fanno parte della provocazione”, si legge nel duro comunicato.
“Israele non permetterà alcuna violazione del legittimo blocco navale di Gaza e invita tutti i partecipanti a questa provocazione a cambiare rotta e a tornare immediatamente indietro”, conclude la nota del ministero.

As predicted, the latest attempt by the Global Sumud Flotilla to force the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza also failed. This morning, as reported by the Times of Israel, which also published some videos from the Israeli Navy, soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (Idf) boarded and took control of several ships of the Flotilla off the coast of Cyprus.
The situation was also confirmed by other Israeli media outlets, and in particular, by the newspaper Ynet, according to which several activists had been arrested and transferred aboard an Israeli Navy ship equipped with a so-called “floating prison.”
According to the Israeli newspaper, as had already happened in previous attempts, the arrested activists will be taken to the port of Ashdod, in Israel, from where they will subsequently be repatriated.

Shortly before the boarding, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs had hinted at this, through a message posted on X, that this mission of the Sumud Flotilla, which had departed from Turkey with approximately 50 ships, would soon be stopped.
“Once again, a self-serving provocation: another so-called ‘humanitarian fleet’ without any humanitarian aid. This time, two violent Turkish groups, Mavi Marmara and IHH, the latter designated as a terrorist organization, are part of the provocation,” it reads in the harsh statement.
“Israel will not allow any violation of the legitimate naval blockade of Gaza and invites all participants in this provocation to change course and return immediately,” the ministry’s note concludes.
