Tank controls in video games have a bad reputation but: they are sometimes the most appropriate scheme. Or at least, my brain is convinced they are, so please stop bamboozling my ageing millennial brain. (continued...)
In both "Kirby and the Forgotten Land" and "Mario: Odyssey" there are segments where you control a vehicle (car, bullet bill) from a fixed, elevated camera angle. And the vehicles have a limited turning speed - they can't just snap to a new direction.
So I instinctively try and steer by pushing left to *turn left*. But instead, you're meant to push the direction you want to go relative to the camera and wait for it to turn to match your input. 😵
