I got myself some #japanese "Graded Readers" from #tadoku over the holidays

These are beginner/learner friendly story booklets. One simple story per booklet. Completely in Japanese, but with furigana on top of the kanji. There's also downloadable mp3s with people reading them, for listening practice

I got the Level 0 bundle, with 18 small booklets. They're still bound left to right, and the text is horizontal

I also go the Level 1 bundle, with 15 small booklets. Those are "properly" right to left, and the text is vertical and also right to left

Koko ni mo, koke ga...

You can find moss on the bark of roadside trees, in school yards, under concrete walls and in other familiar places. When you look at it with a loupe up close, it looks like a forest! Various kinds of moss grow in mixtures, each with its own unique and exquisite appearance. Its appearance has hardly changed since 400 million years ago.

A successful round of Tadoku completed! This has been my highest personal score so far since I’ve joined Tadoku contests. The last highest number of pages I read was around 600. My Japanese reading will slow down a bit as I catch up on my native language novels (library books and personal ones) and also focus on writing my own novel. ☺️ #JapaneseLanguage #Tadoku

I’m not only running the #Japanese #bookclub at my university, I’ve also created the website www.dokushoclub.com with all Japanese reading resources I gathered over the last 2 years.

I noticed that a big issue for learners was finding the right text, book or #manga for their abilities, so everything is listed by #JLPT level and I comment on #furigana, grammar and the range of vocabulary in my #bookreview s.
