Transcranial alternating current stimulation, or tACS, is a type of brain stimulation that can change neural activity and improve memory, attention and executive function.
With its capacity to correct for its phase differences relative to concurrent brain oscillations, an online phase-corrected tACS system provides the possibility to both up- and down-regulate targeted brain oscillations within a short period; using such a system, this study shows that parietal alpha oscillations exert causal impacts on working memory retention.
