Been slowly reading Stonetop. It’s kind of fascinating. I think it’s the first PbtA game I’ve read that’s so very integrated to a specific setting.

I know there are a few others that are built on franchises (Root, Avatar), but Stonetop you are in a specific village. There’s a whole second book about the setting. The village has its own sheet and moves.

It’s really quite interesting.

Once again, #Stonetop: Can someone please show me a #TTRPG – specifically an #OSR / #DND – book that has such cool, inspiring Minor & Major Arcana ( aka #magicitems )? Even when skimming through them, I want to adapt them for every #fantasy #ttrpg, they’re so much cooler than your +5 Unholy Avenger.

The PDFs for the #Stonetop #ttrpg dropped yesterday(?).

The books look amazing! It's been a long while since I last checked on their progress and they have expanded so far in the interim. So much great practical advice for, and examples of, running a fantasy role playing game using the Powered by the Apocalypse (#PbtA) engine.

I'm sure I'll use a lot of the toolkits for world building and adventure prep in other games. It's just so thorough and well presented.

Excited for the physical books!

To be honest, at times I doubted that #Stonetop would ever be completed. The material that was repeatedly made available was full of love for the #TTRPG hobby, and the community-centred #IronAge #Fantasy really appeals to me. It's about more than killing monsters, grabbing treasure and levelling up!

Signs and wonders are happening! #Stonetop, one of, no, if not my favourite #TTRPG crowdfunding project of recent years, is approaching the finish line, and the complete PDFs have been made available. #IronAge #Fantasy, which reminds me of #Runequest, but is based on #PBTA and offers numerous ideas.

#Stonetop: Interesting approach, but I don't think it’s particularly comparable to #DnD / #Dungeonworld. Sure, some elements are similar, but imo it's essentially about a community, which makes it closer to #ttrpg like #Runequest or #ArsMagica. The worldbuilding and ideas provided are great. Enjoy

Je suis beaucoup plus tentée par Stonetop (stonetop.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders) un pbta de fantasy autour du village des PJ. Mon seul frein est qu'apparemment c'est pour de longues campagnes. Mais je pense le prendre quand même. Et puis Legend of the Mist me tente aussi. Bref, des envies de fantasy en ce moment.
