I really like the gist of this essay. I love the mission of the FSF and the copyleft licenses and ethical goals.

I do have a problem with RMS being on the board of directors despite his unapologetic problematic beliefs. Unfortunately, I needed to double check and I have confirmed that he is still on the board despite his beliefs and lack of apologies. As a reminder, I feel it is important to share why RMS should be removed from the FSF:

@taylan This is much more interesting than the #StallmanReport imo. Because it is pretty much the same attack, but in order to protect #RMS. Which is meta to unbelievable degree, yet, perhaps not very good when it comes to what Stallman was trying to argue.

Social media and dynamic web sites are failed experiments

So one of my favourite podcasts went into radio silence. I am of course talking about Hacker Public Radio, a free culture and technology oriented podcast, to which I have contributed a few episodes, in the spirit of listener generated content. I haven’t done a podcast in a while, spending more time in the real world, taking a break from tech and getting back to basics and messing around with my bicycles. I still tuned in once in a while, which is how I came to learn through other sources that I was no longer able to download any new episodes due to the fact that the Internet Archive was hacked. The Internet Archive is the server where episodes of hacker public radio were served from.

This is so much worse than the #StallmanReport (which is confirmed to be #DrewDeVault behind it), jesus. I've already heard some terrible stuff in the relevant thread in HN, but this really hammers the nails in the coffin... ​​

Very thoughtful post about the #StallmanReport. It succinctly drills down into the issues. As well as bringing up other heros who have abused others.

Those people are #Freedom activists. It is easy to find something a freedom activist says or does "wrong" in relation to sex. But if not them, #gayrights would not exist for example. Once upon the time being gay was a sexual crime.
