got debian 11 successfully flashed onto my #sonicPad and set up with klipper, moonraker, and mainsail. was able to use it to tune the resonance ringing via the accelerometer and got significantly less x/y ringing after applying the analyzer's recommendations. despite being a pain in the ass to actually flash it onto the pad (I had to resort to a windows machine - egads) it seems a lot nicer this way than trying to get the stock firmware to work this nicely with a custom printer setup.

tomorrow I'll get the calipers out and dial in the extrusion a bit closer to reality and get pressure advance set up. #3dPrinting

Ein #Creality #SonicPad für 99,99€? Ich könnte fast schwach werden! Da hätte man #Klipper und ein Display in einem schönen Gehäuse.

Andererseits könnte ich auch auf das fette Display verzichten und bspw. #MainsailOS auf einem vorhandenen Raspberry PI installieren. Das wäre vermutlich die vernünftige Entscheidung.

Also, bin ich jetzt mal vernünftig oder lieber unvernünftig?

I think it is all due to the "Stae of #opensource in #3dprinting" by Josef #Prusa that led to this.

We have 3 routes we can take now. #Closedsource #Bambu printers, semi-open #Creality (which is just a copy of everything out their basically), and #Opensource #Voron.

I am disappointed in Creality just becoming copy-cats and also releasing stupid stuff like the Creality #SonicPad and locking it up as much as the #FLSun 400 controller.

But companies like #AnyCubic aren't even trying to copy #Prusa. They are just cntrl+f'ing them by now.

The 1st layer is perfect. It's printing 3 of the same thing. It starts fine. No idea why or how this happens. Only started when I switched to using the #Creality #SonicPad.

Does anyone know if I can use the #Anker #PowerConf #C200 #Webcam on the #Creality #SonicPad?

I think the damn thing is locked down and only works with their software or on Windows.

Every time I see a new video on YouTube about the #Creality #SonicPad being the "easy way to #Klipper", I have to go and add a disclaimer to the video comments to ensure people KEEP AWAY FROM THAT THING! 😠

Not only is that plainly FALSE, but they also broke the Open Source licenses of Klipper, Moonraker, Fluidd, Mainsail, KlipperScreen...

The Sonic Pad does NOT run Klipper, but an unsupported fork of Klipper, so be advised that you will NOT have official support for it!
