Here's today's #freecadfriday project. I've always had a semi-intelligent desktop thermometer. It originally replaced one of those LCD indoors/outdoors thermometer after I installed smart sensors in the house. It has evolved from a 8-digit Nano Arduino driven basic thing into this generation's ESP32 driven OLED display.
I wanted to create an enclosure that had the feel of a CRT TV. I started by modeling the display according its technical drawings and a mockup of EPS32 dev board. I placed them hanging in the air, then drew rest of the case around them. Here's the outcome.
The thing itself is as much thermometer as your cellphone is just a phone. When stuff isn't happening, it shows couple temperature sensor readings and weather, but it shows noteworthy stuff from ringing door bell to raising packet loss and other stuff.
Today for the last models of this month I made the Mummy Lord and Mummy females from the Monster Manual 2025.
