Writing Toy Software Is A Joy | Joshua Barretto

You should write more toy programs

@tastapod inspired me with his #JoyfulCoding based on https://cupid.dev practices. Focus less on formal #SOLID principles. Have more fun.

This Joy of Coding notion led me to expand the concept to be #JoyfulCreation.

After all coding is social and countless people are involved in getting results that fulfills our collective needs.

This is what the future #SocialWeb will bring. #CommonsParticipation πŸ’ͺ

Joyful creation is where fediverse allows us to ✨ social code the social code together.

CUPID - for joyful code

CUPID - for joyful coding # This website is based on an article by Daniel Terhorst-North, describing properties of joyful code. I believe that there are properties or characteristics of software that make it a joy to work with. The more your code has these qualities, the more joyful it is to work with; but everything is a tradeoff so you should always consider your context. There are likely many of these properties, overlapping and interrelating, and there are many ways to describe them. I have chosen five that underpin much of what I care about in code. There is a diminishing return; five are enough to make a handy acronym, and few enough to remember.
