Mouser is now stocking SMARC modules from Toradex. They have vastly more detailed datasheets publicly available than their competitors who either are unclear about what SMARC features are implemented, or require a professional e-mail address to get the real datasheet (or both).

Приветствую, Хабр! После того, как были разработаны модуль SMARC и материнская плата для проверки всех его интерфейсов, я решил пойти немного дальше и сделать для себя мини-ПК. Хотелось получить маленькую коробочку с необходимыми мне разъемами для замены старенького настольного ПК. Что из этого получилось, рассказываю под катом.

Just as clarification: I'm obsessed with #SMARC #SystemOnModule because it specifies the power control and power states, while many proprietary SoMs either don't specify it or don't have it at all. And in particular, the Raspberry Pi CM4 has no sleep state at all. On or off are all you get.

I keep looking for moderately priced #SMARC #EmbeddedLinux #SystemOnModule with wifi for a #CyberDeck. It turns out Radxa (The RockPi people) *used* to make one, the Rock Pi N10, but they don't make any SMARC compatible boards anymore. 😐

Other than the usual reasons of vendor-independence, another reason to use a #ComputerOnModule conforming to the #SMARC standard is that one-off SoM/CoM solutions have vague definitions for power sequencing and power control. The SMARC standard has nice clear definitions for what happens during power-up, stand-by, power button, and battery status signals. Also SMARC supports up to two USB3.1 ports. #EmbeddedLinux #Cyberdeck

There are plenty of challenging tasks in customer projects and we will solve them with our super-extensible and compact solution.

Providing a SMARC 2.1 interface, the node is easily extensible with SMARC-compliant boards, for example Intel Atom® x6000 series ("Elkhart Lake") processor.

The CoreNode’s powerful microcontroller provides numerous interfaces that makes it fit perfectly into CAN or LIN based control systems.

While still being a work in progress, we are so proud of the first samples that are already shipped to customers for evaluation purposes.
