One more from Nobel Week Lights! By my first gaze, I wasn't too impressed by Victoria Verseau's Limina, but the second and third ones, and moving around the artwork changed all that. Its apparent simplicity conceals a variety of details, views and meanings, that unfold with some time and concentration.

As I approached Charlotte Landelius's In a Heartbeat at Nobel Week Lights, I feared it would be a tear-jerk commercial for Red Cross. Luckily, I was wrong. I especially praise the editing, which didn't underline but presented the most important seconds to get the message through.

Gun Gordillo's neon work Porta Blanca shows a Porta in a form of a transparent but reflective plexiglass and a Blanca in form of neon tubes in a variety of hues of white. Seen at Copenhagen Contemporary, always worth a visit!

Visit to Nyt Lys at Sophienholm, close to Copenhagen was the scariest art experience for a while. The festival is in the park of the Sophienholm manor, and there is no lighting in the park whatsoever. Also, part of the park is actually woods. Also, it was foggy. And I was all alone in the pitch black park. I was quite sure I wouldn't get out of there in one piece.

I did, but I do have to admit, I walked faster than usual.

The art was very scant on light levels as well, if not in quality. I am biased, but my favourite was Disappearing Event by Elina Brotherus, the artist herself walking into water, projected on a rare light surface in the park.

The festival's last day is tomorrow January 25th. I totally recommend going, just don't go alone!
