@SvenBothe @tinker @signalapp Technically, #SignalDesktop does not require a phone to sync with.
It requires a primary device to sync with at least once every 30 days... that duration could have been reduced since I checked last.
My primary device is my Linux desktop running Signal-Cli from Flathub.
A phone number is required once to activate a new account - at registration time only - afaik, and I still hate that requirement, for the record.

Screenshot of #SignalDesktop I took last year on #Librem5.
Regarding browsers, the default #FirefoxESR does not need any zooming in, and neither does #GnomeWeb, #Kumo or #AngelFish. On #BraveBrowser, I zoom in 125%.
Btw, being able to use desktop apps on #LinuxMobile is generally considered one of its advantages!

@trashheap
the #MollyFOSS fork supposedly allows for linking more devices.
otherwise, #signaldesktop in #debian #proot in #termux?
or use a #e2ee messenger that doesn't limit multiple accounts or linking, like #deltachat.

Question for Linux folks using Signal
With the latest Signal Desktop, is anyone else having UX issues? Over here, Signal Desktop’s window lost its X button to close the window. Currently using elementaryOS.
Signal version is 7.79.0
Using elementaryOS 8
Boosts welcome
