A bit of early-season scything practice this morning, with the aim of getting my scything muscles in shape before needing to cut the main wildflower meadow in July / August.
This section of long grass hasn't been cut at all for 2 or 3 years so was quite tough and tangled; a 2m-wide swathe roughly 50m long took around 2.5 hours to cut.
Nice fresh easterly breeze in this part of Derbyshire, making it much less hot and humid than in recent days - perfect for scything the last of the wildflower meadow before the rain forecast for tomorrow.
