Interesting review of the #sBitxv2 #sdr #hamradio buit around a #RaspberryPi.
thus far, while working with the #sbitxv2 , I must say, I'm confused.
I normally use a R-Pi for my ham stuff, with an IC-7100, so FT8(wsjtx)/FLDigi/etc, is nothing new to me.
But, the UI is just confounding.
I managed to make a QSO in the web interface, but have no ability to export it for QRZ or LoTW.
Additionally, the receive quality on the same antenna with the same tuner, etc, is significantly reduced.
I still have high hopes it'll work well for a #sota or #pota rig, but it's gonna need significant work to get right.
First off, I've gotta figure out how to get FLRig working with it, then figure out what settings rigctld will need to use, in order to make ardop and pat/winlink going to exchange #winlink messages.
Toggling between modes is also strange.
I'm sure that folks who are familiar with the UI will do far better than I am doing, but for right now, I'm struggling.
(Sorry for all the #hamradio stuff lately, mentally ramping up for the #hamradiovillage at #defcon31 next week)
testing out the #sbitxv2
The UI is definitely weird. Managed to eke out 2 QSOs over FT8.
Moving back to my 7100, and now the SWR is thru the roof, so clearly I've munged something.
Also, happy #newhamradio day!
I got a #sbitxv2 in the post today. Unfortunately, the antenna adapter isn't here, so no tinkering tonight. It'll have to wait till tomorrow.
